Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport’s new concept design is done by Spanish Architects Gillbartolome

The Government has contracted China Construction Third Engineering Bureau to carry out the up gradation work of Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport. The cost of the project is estimated at 41-billion ruble (about 2.6 billion RMB). The company will carry out the contract to engineer, procure, and construct the Allama Iqbal International Airport.

After the up gradation Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport will become Pakistan’s largest airport. As part of the project the local infrastructure will be improved too. It is the largest project that the Third Engineering Bureau has undertaken overseas, marking another important achievement in Belt and Road Construction.

Secretary Aviation Division Irfan Illahi has already said that the airport will be upgraded two phases with the first phase starting soon and will be completed in 18 months. This will increase the capacity of airport as well as increase the number of air bridges.
